And my point is...?

Now that I'm 24 hours into my obsession with blogdom, I'd like to pinpoint the purpose of my little spot of blogography.

I've been voraciously devouring other people's blogs and, quite frankly, some of them seem a bit too self-aware -- a bit contrived. For instance, a couple of photographers' blogs seem overtly aimed at customers, and the verbiage strikes me as a bit canned. "Welcome to my blog, everybody! Enjoy your stay! You'll find tons of GREAT stuff here, every single day!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, and here's how to hire me after you've finished absorbing my delightful witticisms!" and the like.

I certainly don't mind if anyone visits my blog (at least, after I get some worthwhile content up). But the point of my blog is not to impress or inform clients, my friends, my peers, or anyone else. It's really just for me. If I want to blather aimlessly, I shall do so with impunity. Blathering aimlessly, after all, is quite underrated.
